How windows are used to show the growing friendship of Cas and Dean in Free to Be You and Me
I posted my first analysis on the cinematography of 5x03 and this time I want to focus on windows.
I noticed that windows in this episode are used for the lighting and cinematography a lot more than normal episodes.
Rooms without or less prominent windows
First, we have Cas showing up in a mirror with Dean, and while this is done for comedy, mirrors are often used to reflect the true feelings of characters.
Cas asks for Dean's help. As they talk they stand closer to each other. The mirror prominent on one side and a closed curtain window on the other.
Tumblr media
The other scene without a window is when the duo are in the "den of iniquity." At this point, they are at odds. Dean thinks he's helping his friend experience something before he dies but Cas is not enjoying this. He is visibly uncomfortable. While their friendship is growing, they are not on the same page, lacking understanding just like lacking windows.
Tumblr media
Windows
After driving for who know how long in Baby, Dean and Cas work on the case together. The first time this has been done. They are in an office full of windows and an open door, symbolizing how they are on their way, open to a deepening friendship.
Tumblr media
The walls are solid, visceral colors. From the pink tones in the brothel to this greenish blue of the hospital room. Something about these color choices as well.
They continue on their case with confronting Raphael. They stand physically apart but emotionally supportive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The window blinds are open. Later when Raphael's in his true vessel and confronting Cas and Dean, we see very prominent windows behind them. These windows show the opposing elements: fire inside the building symbolizing Cas and Dean strength over Raphael and the rain/storm happening outside, representing Raphael's strength. When he blows out the windows bringing the elements inside, instead of separating or lessening the duo's power it brings them together physically and emotionally.
Tumblr media
Before they confront Raphael, some of my favorite cinematography happens. Cas and Dean are sitting in the abandoned house. A giant window shining the only light into the room is behind them. This is the moment where Dean finds out Cas will probably die during this mission he chooses to try and give Cas a nice time (according to Dean) before this happens. The light through the open curtains shines on them like the budding of their friendship.
Tumblr media
Baby
Cas and Dean spend probably what is the longest time so far together in Baby. Dean insists they drive to Maine which would at the very least take a day depending where they are.
At the end of all of this journey, they end up having a heart-to-heart in Baby. While Dean does not believe in Cas' cause, Cas is down trodden, and Dean decides to lift Cas up instead. By this time, the case and everything they go through has strengthened their friendship.
Tumblr media
Outside
We have two scenes of Cas and Dean outside. First, when they arrive in Maine for the case, they go to the police department. Dean fixes Cas' tie and puts the fake FBI badge in his pocket, a gesture to make Cas look presentable.
The other outside scene is after Cas and Dean escape the brothel. Dean puts his arm around Cas and laughs and Cas smiles - for only the second time. At this point, these are the highpoints of the growing bond between them.
Tumblr media
They are at odds in scenes without windows and grow closer in scenes with open blinds, light streaming through. And are at their closest when outside, free to be themselves.
This episode is not only about Raphael but about the growing bond and friendship between Cas and Dean.

Note
noticed that you've mentioned the different angel choirs existing. have you figured out all of the different choirs and their roles?
So!
I've borrowed some names & hierarchy from occult stuff which I think is used in tarot cards (?) and building out from there with my own lore - angel & demon stuff has a very religious history but I'm trying to make sure there's a separation between my stories and real world religions, for obvious reasons. Anyway I've been using this order of angels (& corresponding demons) which are credited by one occult wiki to Pseudo-Dionysus & to Thomas of Aquinas (I don't think they're gonna get mad at me if I don't credit, just don't want people to think this is all original to me!);
ANGELS - DEMONS
Seraphim - False Gods Cherubim - Spirits of Lies Thrones - Vessels of Iniquity Dominions - Revengers of Evil Powers - Deluders Virtues - Aerial Powers Principalities - Furies Archangels - Accusers Angels - Tempters and Ensnarers
Are all of these going to be explored in the audios? Almost certainly not! Honestly, don't take all of that too seriously with my lore. I've been using this as a reference to build out from but I've mainly been using it for inspiration, not as a concrete lore structure. Seriously - each of these levels also has a corresponding planet or the moon, don't read too much into this specifically!
The main thing to take from this is that Nem is an archangel, which is the second lowest in the hierarchy, while I've categorised Jackson (an incubus) as a Tempter, so one level below. Personal guardian angels, which we haven't seen, would be the regular Angel level. The weirder-looking "biblically-accurate" angels would be things like the Thrones, higher choirs of angels.
Pretty much all the tiers above the lowest of each tend to remain either in the Skyrealm or the Underworld, really it's only the lowest tier of angels & demons that interact much with Earth. The differences are more grey than just Good and Evil, I think of the two realms in the lore as spacial layers, realms occupying the same space as the Earth, with their own structured societies, think of them more like a country of elves and a country of orcs which you need special doors to visit (or like the Nether and the Aether I guess). Also, so as to keep a fair separation from theology, there isn't a "the Devil", and I've just been saying the Skyrealm is in service to "the Light". So there's a fair bit going on in the background, but we're unlikely to explore it thoroughly to keep from delving too much into direct religious references.

THEY ARE HIS ATTRIBUTES AND NOT WEAKNESSES 1
7 THE LORD IS GOOD, A STRONG REFUGE WHEN TROUBLE COMES. HE IS CLOSE TO THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM.
8 But HE WILL SWEEP AWAY HIS ENEMIES IN AN OVERWHELMING FLOOD. He will pursue his foes into the darkness of night."
Nahum 1:7,8 (NLT)
• God will not hesitate to correct His children whom He loves.
- God has different attributes. Love, goodness, kindness, patience, and gentleness, are some of His attributes.
- The verse number 7 of our text, tallks about God's goodness. How He is a strong refuge, and close to those who trust in Him. But, in verse number 8, the writer of the passage failed not to equally tell us the fierceness of His Anger towards those who stand against Him as His enemies.
- God can be difficult to relate with at times. He might be hard to be pleased. And He could be severe in His dealings with you, If He does love you (Hebrews 12:5,6).
• The truth is:
- To please God, you would have to surrender all. He usually chooses to exalt those who seem to be foolish in the sight of the world:
"INSTEAD, GOD CHOSE THINGS THE WORLD CONSIDERS FOOLISH IN ORDER TO SHAME THOSE WHO THINK THEY ARE WISE. And HE CHOSE THINGS THAT ARE POWERLESS TO SHAME THOSE WHO ARE POWERFUL" (1 Corinthians 1:27 (NLT).
- God would hardly use a self conceited person. A person who is full of the self is hardly used of God.
- If you are opinionated, dogmatic, or a narrow minded person, God would be hesitant to use you.
- God uses a flexible person, who seems not to be wise in his or her own eyes.
- God usually would break, or humble, whoever He wants to use. He at times could be harsh or strict in breaking and moulding of the vessel He wanted to use.
• God has a taste for excellence. He also is said to be a perfectionist. God would not use a dirty vessel. A dirty vessel that would be used, at all, had to be purified: 19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “LET EVERYONE WHO NAMES THE NAME OF CHRIST DEPART FROM INIQUITY.” 20 BUT in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, SOME FOR HONOUR AND SOME FOR DISHONOUR. 21 THEREFORE IF ANYONE CLEANSES HIMSELF FROM THE LATTER, HE WILL BE A VESSEL FOR HONOUR, SANCTIFIED AND USEFUL FOR THE MASTER, PREPARED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK. 22 FLEE ALSO YOUTHFUL LUSTS; BUT PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS, FAITH, LOVE, PEACE WITH THOSE WHO CALL ON THE LORD OUT OF A PURE HEART" (2 Timothy 2:19-21 NKJV).
- God would not use whoever would not submit to His process of cleansing and purification which would be done through the written Word and the Holy Spirit.
- The cooperation of the vessel, the would-be leader being prepared, is of paramount importance.
- No one uses an unrefined gold—yet to be purified gold. God had to take whoever the intended vessel is, through the fire of purification; that such might be a befitting vessel of honour; sanctified and useful for the Master, Jesus Christ, and prepared for every good work.
- God would remove every dross; impurity, waste or impure matter, which might be found in the life of the vessel He intended to use.
• The purification process.
- The purification being spoken about here is not of the flesh. This is done by God through His Word and the Holy Spirit on the inside of the person.
- The purification being done in the old testament was of the flesh, and had no power to purify the conscience:
9 THIS IS AN ILLUSTRATION POINTING TO THE PRESENT TIME. FOR THE GIFTS AND SACRIFICES THAT THE PRIESTS OFFER ARE NOT ABLE TO CLEANSE THE CONSCIENCES OF THE PEOPLE WHO BRING THEM. 10 For that old system deals only with food and drink and various cleansing ceremonies—physical regulations that were in effect only until a better system could be established. 14 JUST THINK HOW MUCH MORE THE BLOOD OF CHRIST WILL PURIFY OUR CONSCIENCES FROM SINFUL DEEDS SO THAT WE CAN WORSHIP THE LIVING GOD. FOR BY THE POWER OF THE ETERNAL SPIRIT, CHRIST OFFERED HIMSELF TO GOD AS A PERFECT SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS" (Hebrews 9:9,10,14 NLT).
- However, the cooperation of the vessel being prepared cannot be overemphasized; for the successful outcome of the purification process. It is not the sole responsibility of God to change or mould whoever is being prepared for an assignment in His Kingdom, the cooperation and the willingness of the person are necessary, important, and they are required.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, I declare you are healed in Jesus' mighty name.
- Affliction will not rise the second time in your life in Jesus' name.
Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. Ask that your name be written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
- If you took the steps As highlighted above, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!

Psalm 31 (NKJV)
In You, O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness. Bow down Your ear to me, Deliver me speedily; Be my rock of refuge, A fortress of defense to save me.
For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me. Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, For You are my strength. Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.
I have hated those who regard useless idols; But I trust in the Lord. I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, For You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place.
Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am in trouble; My eye wastes away with grief, Yes, my soul and my body! For my life is spent with grief, And my years with sighing; My strength fails because of my iniquity, And my bones waste away. I am a reproach among all my enemies, But especially among my neighbors, And am repulsive to my acquaintances; Those who see me outside flee from me. I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel. For I hear the slander of many; Fear is on every side; While they take counsel together against me, They scheme to take away my life.
But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me. Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me for Your mercies’ sake. Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You; Let the wicked be ashamed; Let them be silent in the grave. Let the lying lips be put to silence, Which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues.
Blessed be the Lord, For He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city! For I said in my haste, “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried out to You.
Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person. Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.

1 John 4:19 We love because [God] first loved us.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
2 Timothy 2:21 So if anyone cleanses himself of what is unfit, he will be a vessel for honor: sanctified, useful to the Master, and prepared for every good work.
Isaiah 30:18 …the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
Numbers 14:19 Pardon…the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of Thy lovingkindness, just as Thou also hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.
May you leave behind the traditions and practices you have been taught which do not glorify the Lord and which keep you from quickly and readily obeying God so that He may be free to bless you with the choicest of blessings He has searched out for you. Ezekiel 20
May you follow the ways of the Lord you have been shown and walk in the truths He has given you during your times alone, shut in with Him, away from distractions; do not rebel against the Lord or reject His authority so that He may make of you a testimony of His goodness and power to those around you. Ezekiel 20
May you walk in gratitude and thanksgiving to the Lord for His multitude of blessings and His keeping power in your life, honoring His name for His goodness to you, and worshiping God for the inheritance He has given you, lest you turn to your own desires and consume His blessings for your own satisfactions, striving to be like those around you who serve wood and stone rather than knowing the true and living God, Who has led you and kept you in all of your ways, for He is your shield and defense. Ezekiel 20
May you pass under the rod of the Lord, as of a shepherd who cares for his flock, coming into the bond of His covenant, so that He may purge you of influences which revolt and rebel against God, making you ready to listen to Him and serve Him. He will accept you as fragrant incense as He shows Himself holy before you so that you will know that He is the Lord. Ezekiel 20
May you glorify the Lord for His work as your High Priest, Who entered the heavenly Most Holy Place, which was not made with hands, and offered up, through the eternal Spirit, the sacrifice of His own blood, His life, and obtained eternal redemption for you, cleansing your conscience from acts that lead to death so that you may serve the living God. Hebrews 9
My child, can you welcome Me with open arms and glad heart? Does your spirit leap within you for joy when you consider joining Me in eternity? Or do you shrink back, dreading the light, longing for more time in this world? Where is the joy of your life? To what treasure does your heart yearn? Set your mind on things above rather than on earthly things, My love. Do not feed your old nature, but allow it to wither and die, for you have been raised into new life with Me, and I am seated in the heavenlies at the right hand of the Father. I am your life, My precious one, and when I appear, you also will appear with Me in glory. Care for those I have given you to love, My cherished one, and show to them the compassion and mercy that I have given you. But do not cling to them, as though you were their source for all they need. Do you sustain them? Do you keep them breathing through the night as they sleep? Do you maintain the balance of the many marvelously wrought systems in their bodies that bring health and well-being each day? Love them in My love, but release them to Me, for I am their life, just as I am yours. Do you thrill to the beauty of the earth, and the marvel of all creation? Do you soak in the majesty of the mountains, the power of the oceans, the incomprehensible complexity of the web of life from the soil underfoot to the tops of the trees and all the diversity in between? Do you feel astonishment at the way the tiniest particles of matter and energy obey the rules governing their behavior just as readily as the most enormous objects in the skies follow the laws I have set forth? All of creation bears the mark of My nature, just as the clay of a pot bears the fingerprints of the potter. Rejoice in the aspects of My awesomeness that it reveals to you, but do not worship it in place of Me. Wear the world loosely, My little one, so that it can point and lead you to Me rather than be a stumbling block that diverts you from the worship of the true God. All that you see, everything that can be measured or weighed, will pass away. Only I will remain. Seek to know Me, for it may be today that all you see will be taken from you. Will you rejoice to be in My presence? Will I be able to welcome you into My arms and say, “Well done! Enter into the joy of My kingdom.” I will make it so, if you turn to Me with all your heart while it is today.
May you give thanks to the Lord, Who has redeemed you from the hand of His foe, for He is good and His love endures forever. Psalm 107
May you cry to the Lord when you are in trouble, for He will deliver you from your distress and lead you by a straight way to where you can be settled and calm. Psalm 107
May you give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. Psalm 107
May you cry to the Lord when you sit in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains, for He will save you from your distress, bringing you out of the darkness and gloom and releasing you from your chains, breaking down gates of bronze and cutting through bars of iron because of His unfailing love. Psalm 107
May you turn to the Lord when you suffer affliction because of your iniquities, for as you draw near the gates of death, He will send forth His word and heal you, rescuing you from the grave, because of His unfailing love. Psalm 107
In the midst of the storm, may you cry out to the Lord, for He will bring you out of your distress and calm the winds to a whisper, hushing the waves of the sea, guiding you to your trusted haven, where you can exalt Him in the gathering of the people and praise Him in the council of the elders. Psalm 107

Broken Vessel
Psalms 51 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin! 3 For I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your…

Daily Devotionals for October 21, 2024
Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living
Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 26:23 (KJV):
23 Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.
Proverbs 26:23 (AMP):
23 Burning lips (uttering insincere words of love) and a wicked heart are like an earthen vessel covered with scum thrown off from molten silver (making it appear to be solid silver).
Thought for the Day
Professions of love from the wicked are comparable to a silver veneer on earthenware vessels. They look good on the surface; but upon thorough examination, they are not what they appear to be. We should assess people by their actions, not their words or appearance (Proverbs 20:11). Otherwise, they will deceive us, like a merchant selling a cheap vessel coated with silver.
The Bible has much to say about people who profess to love God but whose actions prove otherwise. Jesus called those who observe their religious traditions without loving God or their fellow, hypocrites: "...Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, this people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do…Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition" (Mark 7:6-9).
Bondage to man-made religious traditions is one of the things that keep people from a true relationship with God. Tradition in itself is not a bad thing if it is not followed blindly. However, Christianity for many people is merely a cultural tradition. They follow certain religious practices only because they were raised to do so. Many trust religious tradition to save them, but salvation is found only in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The only way to heaven is through faith in Him.
Cultural traditions can also lead us astray. We should ask God to show us the truth about them and cleanse us from all deception and unrighteousness. The fact that a tradition has been practiced for centuries, or that all society now behaves a certain way, does not make it right. These traditions can be cheap imitations of abundant life. No matter how popular or accepted certain things may be, if they do not line up with God's Word, we must renounce them. The Bible, not society, is our standard.
Jesus was always kind and extended mercy to the sinners who came to Him with honest hearts. To hypocrites, however, He was very harsh. Though they appeared to the world to be pure as silver, they could not hide their hidden, inward sins from Him: "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so, ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity" (Matthew 23:27-28).
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Dear heavenly Father, I am asking that You be merciful to our nation and deliver us from evil. Father, you said in Your Word that judgment begins at the house of God, so convict Your people of their sins so that they may repent of them and return to You with their whole hearts. Lord, if You see anything in me that I am blind to, or that I have clung to, because of tradition, please show me my need to repent and change my thinking. May I always choose Your Word over all traditions of men? Create in me a clean heart. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Who is King Belial:
King Belial appears many times in the bible within the Old Testament, especially in the King James Version (In the New King James Version of the bible his named is replaced with "wickedness" or "perversion" as a way to omit King Belial's name.) In 2 Corinthians 6:15, King Belial is painted as a direct opposition to Jesus, which has led many to debate whether Belial is another name for Satan. In the Goetia, King Belial is the 68th demon and is attributed with the rank of king among demons and he is said to have been created second only after Lucifer. He is the ruler of 80 legions of demons and 50 legions of spirits, who are of the Infernal and Celestial/Luciferian realms of the Earth. He is also named Prince of the Third Order in the Janua Magica Reserata. The order that is referenced in this is known as the "Vasa Iniquitatus", or "Vessels of the Iniquity." He also holds titles such as The Lord of the Sorcerous Path, Lord of the Earth, and a powerful daemon of will made flesh. He is best known to grant offices, distribute promotions, cause one to be liked, and give excellent familiars. He is also typically associated with chaos, seduction, and the darker aspects of human nature. He symbolizes primal desires and carnal pleasures. He also initiates into the Solar and Lunar gnosis of being. When invoked he brings self-initiation and development, specifically in he holds a gateway to aspects of the mind that control speech and thought patterns. It should be noted that he is an extremely deceitful spirit, also known as a divine trickster, and has to be compelled with divine names, presented with offerings, sacrifices, and gifts in order to get him to give truthful answers to demands. It is said he is constrained by the angel Habujah.
Names, Meanings, and Pronunciation :
The correct pronunciation of Belial is (Bee-Lial). Although he may be referred to as Belhor, Baalial, Beliar, Beliall, Beliel, and Matanbuchus, all of which are historical spellings or other names associated with King Belial. The name "Belial" itself is derived from a Hebrew word that most commonly translates to mean "worthless" or "without value" in English. It is also commonly accepted that Belial means "without a master," as well.
Appearance:
King Belial is said to speak with a comely, or pleasant, voice with a sinister touch to it. He typically may appear in the form of not one, but two beautiful Angels standing in a chariot of fire, in accordance with the Goetia, however it is assumed that this is a error as all other grimoires with mentions of King Belial describe only one Angel as his common appearance. However, in the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, he is described as having a second appearance as an exorcist in the bonds of spirits.

¹ The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ¹² Speak to the Israelites and say to them: If any man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him, ¹³ if a man has had intercourse with her but it is hidden from her husband, so that she is undetected though she has defiled herself, and there is no witness against her since she was not caught in the act; ¹⁴ if a spirit of jealousy comes on him, and he is jealous of his wife who has defiled herself; or if a spirit of jealousy comes on him, and he is jealous of his wife, though she has not defiled herself; ¹⁵ then the man shall bring his wife to the priest. And he shall bring the offering required for her, one-tenth of an ephah of barley flour. He shall pour no oil on it and put no frankincense on it, for it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering of remembrance, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
¹⁶ Then the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the Lord; ¹⁷ the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel, and take some of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water. ¹⁸ The priest shall set the woman before the Lord, dishevel the woman’s hair, and place in her hands the grain offering of remembrance, which is the grain offering of jealousy. In his own hand the priest shall have the water of bitterness that brings the curse. ¹⁹ Then the priest shall make her take an oath, saying, “If no man has lain with you, if you have not turned aside to uncleanness while under your husband’s authority, be immune to this water of bitterness that brings the curse. ²⁰ But if you have gone astray while under your husband’s authority, if you have defiled yourself and some man other than your hus- band has had intercourse with you,” ²¹ —let the priest make the woman take the oath of the curse and say to the woman—“the Lord make you an execration and an oath among your people, when the Lord makes your uterus drop, your womb discharge; ²² now may this water that brings the curse enter your bowels and make your womb discharge, your uterus drop!” And the woman shall say, “Amen. Amen.” ²³ Then the priest shall put these curses in writing, and wash them off into the water of bitterness. ²⁴ He shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that brings the curse, and the water that brings the curse shall enter her and cause bitter pain. ²⁵ The priest shall take the grain offering of jealousy out of the woman’s hand, and shall elevate the grain offering before the Lord and bring it to the altar; ²⁶ and the priest shall take a handful of the grain offering, as its memorial portion, and turn it into smoke on the altar, and afterward shall make the woman drink the water. ²⁷ When he has made her drink the water, then, if she has defiled herself and has been unfaithful to her husband, the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain, and her womb shall dis- charge, her uterus drop, and the woman shall become an execration among her people. ²⁸ But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, then she shall be immune and be able to conceive children.
²⁹ This is the law in cases of jealousy, when a wife, while under her husband’s authority, goes astray and defiles herself, ³⁰ or when a spirit of jealousy comes on a man and he is jealous of his wife; then he shall set the woman before the Lord, and the priest shall apply this entire law to her. ³¹ The man shall be free from iniquity, but the woman shall bear her iniquity.
for some reason this kind of wacky guilt ritual seems out of place in the bible to me. like it should be medieval. but of course the wacky medieval rituals are the distant descendants of the wacky ancient rituals. anyway. really love that the drink is tabernacle dust. thats desert floor dust! gross!

via @/spnscripthunt - Superwiki "Scripts and Casting Sides"
"idolized" is a very interesting choice of word for an archangel
idolatry: the worship of something or someone other than God, as if it were God (prohibited)
Exodus 20:3-6 You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God.
Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry.
Isaiah 46:7 They lift it upon the shoulder and carry it; /They set it in its place and it stands there. / It does not move from its place. / Though one may cry to it, it cannot answer; / It cannot deliver him from his distress
Lucifer keeps saying that he "loved God too much", but it doesn't mean God was the one he loved the most. In fact, it's interesting how he talks about how loving God too much was his downfall in front of Dean (The End)* with no mention of Michael, but call God his "dick of a father" in front of his true vessel and vents to him, talking about how much Michael's betrayal hurt him.
*(Not to mention Endverse is an alternate universe model that was created by Zachariah, NOT time travel, meaning Endverse!Lucifer might not be fully in-character, as all his lines are based on Zachariah's own perception of the Devil's personality)
He says he loved God "more than anything" (The End), but did he move him "more than anyone"? If God is a parallel of John, Michael is a parallel of Dean, and Lucifer a parallel of Sam, then I think the answer is obvious.

Do Not Go Down to Egypt
1 “Ah, stubborn children,” declares the Lord, “who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin; 2 who set out to go down to Egypt, without asking for my direction, to take refuge in the protection of Pharaoh and to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt! 3 Therefore shall the protection of Pharaoh turn to your shame, and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt to your humiliation. 4 For though his officials are at Zoan and his envoys reach Hanes, 5 everyone comes to shame through a people that cannot profit them, that brings neither help nor profit, but shame and disgrace.”
6 An oracle on the beasts of the Negeb.
Through a land of trouble and anguish, from where come the lioness and the lion, the adder and the flying fiery serpent, they carry their riches on the backs of donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people that cannot profit them. 7 Egypt's help is worthless and empty; therefore I have called her “Rahab who sits still.”
A Rebellious People
8 And now, go, write it before them on a tablet and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come as a witness forever. 9 For they are a rebellious people, lying children, children unwilling to hear the instruction of the Lord; 10 who say to the seers, “Do not see,” and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us what is right; speak to us smooth things, prophesy illusions, 11 leave the way, turn aside from the path, let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel.” 12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, “Because you despise this word and trust in oppression and perverseness and rely on them, 13 therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach in a high wall, bulging out and about to collapse, whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant; 14 and its breaking is like that of a potter's vessel that is smashed so ruthlessly that among its fragments not a shard is found with which to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern.”
15 For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling, 16 and you said, “No! We will flee upon horses”; therefore you shall flee away; and, “We will ride upon swift steeds”; therefore your pursuers shall be swift. 17 A thousand shall flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you shall flee, till you are left like a flagstaff on the top of a mountain, like a signal on a hill.
The Lord Will Be Gracious
18 Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
19 For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. 20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. 21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. 22 Then you will defile your carved idols overlaid with silver and your gold-plated metal images. You will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them, “Be gone!”
23 And he will give rain for the seed with which you sow the ground, and bread, the produce of the ground, which will be rich and plenteous. In that day your livestock will graze in large pastures, 24 and the oxen and the donkeys that work the ground will eat seasoned fodder, which has been winnowed with shovel and fork. 25 And on every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be brooks running with water, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. 26 Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day when the Lord binds up the brokenness of his people, and heals the wounds inflicted by his blow.
27 Behold, the name of the Lord comes from afar, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke; his lips are full of fury, and his tongue is like a devouring fire; 28 his breath is like an overflowing stream that reaches up to the neck; to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction, and to place on the jaws of the peoples a bridle that leads astray.
29 You shall have a song as in the night when a holy feast is kept, and gladness of heart, as when one sets out to the sound of the flute to go to the mountain of the Lord, to the Rock of Israel. 30 And the Lord will cause his majestic voice to be heard and the descending blow of his arm to be seen, in furious anger and a flame of devouring fire, with a cloudburst and storm and hailstones. 31 The Assyrians will be terror-stricken at the voice of the Lord, when he strikes with his rod. 32 And every stroke of the appointed staff that the Lord lays on them will be to the sound of tambourines and lyres. Battling with brandished arm, he will fight with them. 33 For a burning place has long been prepared; indeed, for the king it is made ready, its pyre made deep and wide, with fire and wood in abundance; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it. — Isaiah 30 | English Standard Version (ESV) The Holy Bible, English Standard Version. ‭Psalms 31:9-13 NKJV‬
[9] Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am in trouble; My eye wastes away with grief, Yes, my soul and my body! [10] For my life is spent with grief, And my years with sighing; My strength fails because of my iniquity, And my bones waste away. [11] I am a reproach among all my enemies, But especially among my neighbors, And am repulsive to my acquaintances; Those who see me outside flee from me. [12] I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel. [13] For I hear the slander of many; Fear is on every side; While they take counsel together against me, They scheme to take away my life.

HEAVENLY SECRET
18 HE URGED THEM TO ASK THE GOD OF HEAVEN TO SHOW THEM HIS MERCY BY TELLING THEM THE SECRET, so they would not be executed along with the other wise men of Babylon. 19 That night the secret was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven." Daniel 2:18 (NLT)
Tumblr media
Daniel and his colleagues sought God's face in prayer that the King's dream and the interpretation be made known to them.
God granted their requests. He revealed the secret to Daniel in a night vision.
God did it because of their relationship with Him. What gives you credibility, a listening hear, before God is, the strength of your relationship and fellowship with Him.
God will not allow you to go down,be destroyed, with the unbelievers—if your relationship with Him is sound.
What cannot be known by any person was revealed to Daniel because of intimacy: "Daniel replied, “There are no wise men, enchanters, magicians, or fortune-tellers who can reveal the king’s secret" (Daniel 2:27 NLT).
God and you
In Christian living you must not allow sentiment. Know that Christianity is about walking with God, and it is a personal relationship with Him.
Until your services to God become or turned a personal commitment, you cannot experience the deep things of God.
Whatever you are doing in God's vineyard should be personalized, it should be an agreement between you and God. It should be what you are doing because you love God, not because you wanted to please your leader—pastor or whoever: 16 YET PREACHING THE GOOD NEWS IS NOT SOMETHING I CAN BOAST ABOUT. I AM COMPELLED BY GOD TO DO IT. HOW TERRIBLE FOR ME IF I DIDN'T PREACH THE GOOD NEWS! 17 If I were doing this on my own initiative, I would deserve payment. BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE, FOR GOD HAS GIVEN ME THIS SACRED TRUST" (1 Corinthians 9:16–17 NLT).
It should be what you do whether you like to do it or not. It should be a responsibility that you are convinced that should be done.
That night the secret was revealed to Daniel
When you know God intimately, you will have an access to secret of the Kingdom.
Why did God reveal the secret to Daniel and his colleagues: a. They have been loyal to Him—God. b. They have been living a consecrated life, denied themselves, and refused to be defiled—they have been chaste. c. There had been a communion, or fellowship, and a tie, between them and God. d. They had been living according to God's commands (James 1:22-25). e. They have set themselves apart through fasting and prayer (Acts 14:23). f. They have separated themselves from sin, they did NOT get involved in idolatry.
For you to have God's listening hear and be a vessel of honour in His hand, you have to keep yourself from Sin: 19 NEVERTHELESS THE SOLID FOUNDATION OF GOD STANDS, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” AND, “LET EVERYONE WHO NAMES THE NAME OF CHRIST DEPART FROM INIQUITY.” 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, SOME FOR HONOUR AND SOME FOR DISHONOUR. 21 THEREFORE IF ANYONE CLEANSES HIMSELF FROM THE LATTER, HE WILL BE A VESSEL FOR HONOUR, SANCTIFIED AND USEFUL FOR THE MASTER, PREPARED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK" (2 Timothy 2:19-21 NKJV).
God relates with us in different ways; how you relate with Him as an individual determines the depth of you in the understanding of Him and fellowshipping with Him.
God will not exceed, go beyond, the chance or place you give to Him in your life.
God is not partial His dealings with all His children, it is only that God has those who are more intimate with Him than others, such are known as friends and confidants of Him: "AND THE LORD SAID, “SHALL I HIDE FROM ABRAHAM WHAT I AM DOING" (Genesis 18:17 NKJV). NOTE: Isaiah 41:8; James 2:23
You also can become God's friend or confidant; you move up, go beyond the level of being in the crowd—general children of God.
You can make yourself special through: obedience, self denial which is also known as consecration and unwavering commitment, and the choice to honour God in your life always and in all your affairs (Hebrews 11:17).
You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Should there be any ailment in your body, I declare your healing now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Hold of sicknesses is completely broken and destroyed in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
Take notice of this: IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15). a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20). b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10). c. Ask that He will write your name in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
If you took the steps As highlighted above, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!

Psalms chapter 31
1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
2 Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.
3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
4 Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.
5 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
6 I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
8 And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.
9 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.
10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
11 I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
13 For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
14 But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.
15 My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.
17 Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.
22 For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.
23 O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

Theory: The song “Reptilia” is a metaphorical depiction of one’s cycle of addiction. An internal monologue, “The Reptilian Spirit,” (a body-snatching demon) is used as an allegory about succumbing to one’s inner demon—hear me out…
•Brief Summary on Reptilians: The Demonology Of The Reptilian Spirit:
A reptilian is a marine spirit or demon that works and feeds on various energies for specific reasons. Reptilians feed on lustful, animalistic nature; sexual activity, hatred, envy, lies and fear—therefore, affecting specific areas of the human body causing aches, pain, nervousness, and body imbalance. A reptilian spirit resides in the vessels of those who’ve chosen to become a worker of iniquity, (immoral, unfair behavior) denying or rejecting repentance from their ways, (making excuses for their behavior/not taking accountability for their actions.)
“Reptilia” lyrics:
(Verse I)
He seemed impressed by the way you came in,
“Tell us a story, I know you’re not boring,”
I was afraid that you would not insist,
“You sound so sleepy, just take this, now leave me,”
(Pre-Chorus)
I said, please don’t slow me down if I’m going too fast,
You’re in a strange part of our town,
(Chorus)
Yeah, the night’s not over—you’re not trying hard enough,
Our lives are changing lanes—you ran me off the road,
The wait is over—I’m now taking over
You’re no longer laughing—I’m not drowning fast enough,
(Verse II)
Now every time that I look at myself,
“I thought I told you—this world is not for you,”
The room is on fire as she’s fixing her hair,
“You sound so angry, just calm down, you found me,”
(Repeat Pre-Chorus/Chorus)
• Imagine the lyrics as lines to a play—a dialogue between two characters that are actually one and the same. It’s an internal monologue, shifting back and forth between the voice of conscience, to the voice of ego.
•The opening line reads as a general observation, displaying a subtle hint of uncertainty to the way others perceive him.
•The second line is delivered by his ego, (“Reptilia”) encouraging him to enlighten others with charm to prove his self-worth.
•He starts to feel unwelcome, coming to the conclusion he hasn’t made a good enough impression. To salvage his dignity, he self-medicates to cope with his insecurity.
•Alcoholics can’t stop after only one drink. The pre-chorus is the voice of ego, justifying their consumption to oneself by concealing their lack of self-worth to override the unsettling state of their current mindset/situation.
•“Reptilia,” (the drunk alter ego) begins egging him on by encouraging him to self-destruct. Ego begins to taunt, and even belittle him(self.) “yeah, the night’s not over—you’re not trying hard enough.”
•Since he and his alter ego are one and the same, he refers to it as “our lives,” acknowledging that he is headed in the wrong direction because he has lost control of his addiction. He’s fully aware that his dependency has derailed his life—severing the path to future aspirations.
•At this point, “Reptilia” takes control. Too drunk to be bothered by his glaring faults, he drinks himself into oblivion, giving into his inner demon.
•Merging into the next verse, the riff from the intro starts to repeat the same pattern. It almost sounds like a “buzz,” signifying that the cycle has started again at the beginning.
•Ashamed with himself for succumbing to his ego, “Reptilia” convinces him that he is not the problem, but the circumstances that he cannot control, deflecting responsibility. (Something people struggling with addiction often tend to do.)
•Tensions grow in his relationship, (most likely over his substance abuse) which negatively impacts his self-esteem, feeding into his dark thoughts even more. Alluding that his partner is leaving, (presumably, without him) stirs unwarranted feelings of jealousy. Ignoring that his behavior is most likely causing the downfall of his relationship, he refuses to take any blame.
•”You sound so angry, just calm down, you found me,” read from the perspective of “Reptilia,” hits so much harder than if it were said by a significant other. Ego entices him with the comfort of dependency. It’s much easier to drink than it is to communicate how he feels. Instead of addressing his concerns about his relationship, he gives into the cycle instead.
•It exemplifies that his addiction has spread beyond an internal struggle—it’s impacting the lives of the people around him. Not only is he losing himself to his addiction, he’s losing the people around him—the ones he cares for the most.
—————
As much as I love the theory of the “reptilian brain,” I randomly thought of the body-snatching concept while looking at the cover art for the single—the 1981 arcade game, “Centipede.”
Since the title of the song isn’t “Centipede,” or even “Reptilian,” (which I saw was also a common theory about being “cold blooded”) I started thinking about the wild theory on Reptilian body-snatchers. I’m sure I’m wrong, but wanted to share my theory since no one else has seemed to think of it yet. I like listening to songs in different perspectives until I reach one that gives it a higher power, (I’m weird.) Personally, in this case, this song has been given a higher power now because of this thought.
Just wanted to share it—thanks for reading.
